City Immersion/LA Immersion
Zechariah 8: 3Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the LORD Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain.” 4This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Once again men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each of them with cane in hand because of their age. 5The city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there.”
We share God's heart and passion for cities. One of the best ways to understand cities and see God's work first hand, is to be in the city, walking the streets, meeting the people and seeing the land up close. We will be using Scripture and prayer to engage the city as we listen to stories, visit ministries, meet neighbors and understand structures. We offer two types of immersions: City Immersion (with our City Net partnered cities) and LA Urban Immersion.
1. City Immersion: This two day course/training is designed as an interactive, participatory learning immersion connecting participants with our local City Net partnered cities, where our local catalytic leaders and movements are working for the shalom of the city. Using the city (ies) as our lab, we will journey the city streets exploring both the city context and the faith responses as we meet with local leaders, organizations, ministries (site visits) and practitioners and discuss issues and theological paradigms of the power of place, the ministry of presence, Church of the city, shalom and the Kingdom of God. This course is designed for one or multiple cities. Cost is $150 for 2 days/per person.
2. LA Urban Immersion: This training designed as an interactive, participatory learning immersion in Los Angeles that will connect participants/students with the historical and contemporary socio-cultural dynamics of Los Angeles, a progressive and diverse city region of influence. Using the city as our lab, we will journey the city streets exploring both the urban context and the faith responses to the context as we meet with leaders/organizations/ministries and discuss issues and theological paradigms of the power of place, the ministry of presence, Church of the city, shalom and the Kingdom of God. We want to know more God’s love for people and place and seek how we as the people of God can be HOPE builders in the city. Offered as 2 or 5 day course. (Class can be taken for Bakke Graduate University and Fuller Seminary credit; Course registration and course credit fee separate and paid directly to the school).

City Immersion Training Cancellations/Refund Policy: City Immersion Training registrations cancelled 24 hours before event/training will be issued a 50% refund (of total amount paid). If less than 24 hours notice is provided, no refund will be issued.
